What is Places Faces?

When I set out on my year abroad, I had the intention of writing up my experience in a book. Little did I know, this idea led to another and before I knew it I was knee-deep in a project that is changing my life forever. As part of my Places Faces project, I am compiling a collection of faces I have met, and will meet, in various places around the globe for you to read and enjoy. You will laugh, you will cry but most importantly you will feel as if you travelled along with me and came across the people that are the soul of these places. By providing snippets of other’s interiority, my book will illustrate that we all unite under one label; ‘human’. Through this gentle reminder, we’re working on promoting unity and cooperation on many levels to work against things like world hunger, climate change and for equality and peace. Please help me let others know about it too. Talk about it and share it with the people in your life! Together we can make magic happen, faster.

World peace and unity

Places Faces acknowledges that the world is made up of individuals and celebrates humanity. The project promotes world peace and unity on the basis that in order to achieve it, we must start at individual level and work outwards. We have to maintain it and be grateful for it, as well as work on returning to it. When there is peace in your heart , there is peace in your home . When there is peace in our homes, there is peace in the nation . When there is peace in our nations, there is peace in the world.  (Idea from a quote by Lao-tse). Places Faces is a reminder that you can spread peace in your day to day life, whenever and wherever.
